Dry season (December to April)

These are the sunniest months, with reliable mornings for hiking, beaches, and boat tours. It is also peak season, so the national park, restaurants, and hotels are busiest — especially around the December holidays and Easter week. Book tours and lodging early and start your park visit at opening to beat both the heat and the crowds.

Green season (May to November)

The so-called green season is underrated. Mornings are often clear, rain tends to arrive in the afternoon, and the rainforest is lush and full of life. You will find lower prices, thinner crowds, and excellent wildlife viewing. September and October are the wettest months; pack a light rain layer and plan outdoor activities early in the day.
